Tanja Välisalo is a researcher and teacher at the University of Jyväskylä. Her research interests include transmedia audiences, media engagement, and esports. She is also in the editorial board of the Finnish Yearbook of Game Research (Pelitutkimuksen vuosikirja). Välisalo is part of the Centre of Excellence in Game Culture Studies. Her current work focuses on engagement and everyday practices in online learning in the CREDU project (Creating novel technologies of scalable and empowering learning).
