Freyja van den Boom is a PhD candidate at Bournemouth University, UK on Regulation & Ethics of Data, AI and digital technologies
Freyja is conducting her PhD research on the legal and ethical aspects of control, optimizing and monetizing Telematics Personal Data generated through the use of connected cars and V2X communications.
In addition, she’s a multimedia artist with TheCopyriots working on the intersection of Law/Autonomy/Digital Technology.
Before joining Bournemouth University, she worked as a European project manager and legal researcher for Open Knowledge International and KU Leuven on

Prior she worked as a European Trademark and Design Attorney and as a lecturer on Law and Ethics.
She obtained her Bachelor and Master’s degree in Law (LLM) from the University of Tilburg in the Netherlands and a Master’s degree in Sociology of Law (MSc) from Lund University in Sweden.
