Anna Rantapero-Laine is in charge of developing edtech testbeds and R&D collaboration in the field of education within the City of Helsinki. In addition, she is one of the key persons behind the upcoming innovation centre Helsinki Education Hub.
Prior to this position, she was leading the project ”Smart learning environments for the Future”, a part of the Six City Strategy (6Aika). The aim of the project was to enhance business opportunities of companies by providing an opportunity to test their products and services in the educational institutions of Finland´s largest cities. Product activities were targeted at companies developing digital, physical or virtual learning environments. In addition, new user-driven learning environments were developed in the five largest cities and in Universities in Applied Sciences in Finland and a shared framework for co-creation of learning environments was created. Around 300 Finnish companies participated in the project activities and 200 pilots were conducted during years 2018-2020.
She has also worked as Business Area Director at the University of Helsinki Centre for Continuing Education HY+ Ltd, where she was in charge of developing open continuing education for various fields (e.g. teachers´ in-service training) for Finnish and international markets. She led also many projects regarding e.g. user-driven public services and productization.
