Hernando began his career supporting UPS’s 6 year global expansion from North America to South America, Europe and Asia. During his time with M&M Mars he lead a complex and innovative system integration of the manufacturing facilities in North and South America. At Prudential Financial he supported the demutualization process turning this business from a mutual to publicly traded firm, he them supported the firm’s strategic M&A expansion into the Asian markets. Leaving the insurance sector he embarked on a project to support a small struggling nonprofit science museum outside of New York city. The Liberty Science Center transformation was a wildly successful 2-year endeavor and a labor of love. Upon its completion, the facility gained recognition for its focus on thought provoking exhibits that demonstrated the contribution that science, technology, engineering and math have had on modern education and culture.
At Thomson Reuters Financial he supported the integration of the Reuters news business with Thompson Financial. At Novartis Pharmaceuticals, he quickly became known as a thought leader in the use of mobility devices to enhance the engagement with kOL’s and the dissemination of scientific content to the global scientific community. At Boehringer Ingelheim, he drives the digital innovation across the globe as it pertains the firm’s Clinical Development value chain. He is on the steering committee for the PharmaLedger Blockchain IMI Consortium
